EDTA Mg

  • Product: EDTA Mg
  • Appearance: White powder
  • Content: 5.5–6.5% Mg
  • pH (in 1% Solution): 5–7
  • Water-Insoluble Matter: ≤ 0.1%

EDTA Mg (Magnesium) Magnesium, as a core component of chlorophyll, plays a critical role in photosynthesis, enzyme activation, and carbohydrate metabolism in plants. EDTA Mg provides magnesium in a chelated form, ensuring rapid and effective uptake by plants. It offers high stability, especially in conditions where magnesium binding is high in the soil and there are pH imbalances.

Key Advantages

  • High bioavailability: Rapid uptake by leaves and roots thanks to the EDTA chelate.
  • Stable in a wide pH range: pH 5–7 in a 1% solution.
  • Homogeneous dissolution, low residue: Water-insoluble matter ≤ 0.1%.
  • Photosynthesis support: Strengthens the green parts of leaves and increases photosynthesis.
  • Flexible use: Suitable for drip irrigation (fertigation) and foliar application.

When to Use?

  • Signs of magnesium deficiency (interveinal yellowing on leaves, early leaf drop, weakened photosynthesis)
  • Conditions where magnesium uptake is difficult due to high applications of potassium and calcium
  • To increase yield and quality in vegetables, fruits, and vineyards

Areas of Use and Recommended Applications The following doses are general recommendations; adjust the product according to the crop, climate, phenology, and soil/water analysis. It is recommended to perform a trial on a small plot.

Drip Irrigation (Fertigation)

  • Vegetables, fruit trees, vineyards: 1.0 – 2.0 kg/ha/application, every 7–10 days.
  • Greenhouse production: 0.5 – 1.0 kg/da/application.

Foliar Application

  • General range: 200 – 400 g / 100 L of water.
  • Trees/vineyards: 0.2 – 0.4% (200–400 g/100 L), every 10–14 days throughout the growing season.
  • Vegetables: 0.15 – 0.3% (150–300 g/100 L), every 10–14 days during the active growth period.

Warning: Avoid foliar application in high temperatures (≥28–30°C) and under intense sunlight.

Miscibility and pH

  • Generally compatible with most macro and micronutrients in the appropriate pH range.
  • Do not mix in high concentrations in the same tank with solutions containing phosphate and sulfate; there may be a risk of precipitation.
  • Avoid mixing with strong alkaline products (pH > 8.5). Always perform a jar test.

Application Tips

  • As magnesium is involved in chlorophyll synthesis, regular and early applications on leaves are recommended.
  • Since it competes with potassium and calcium applications, it is important to time Mg applications appropriately.
  • Deficiency symptoms are usually seen in lower leaves; foliar applications during this period provide a quick effect.

Packaging and Storage

  • Packaging: 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 25 kg multi-layer kraft bag or PE packaging.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry, and dark place in its original, sealed packaging.
  • Shelf life: 2 years from the production date under proper conditions.

Safety

  • Use gloves, goggles, and appropriate equipment during application.
  • Keep away from children and foodstuffs. Use the product only as instructed.

FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can EDTA Mg be used instead of magnesium sulfate? The purpose is different: Magnesium sulfate is a fast-soluble salt form; EDTA Mg provides chelated, more stable Mg and is specifically aimed at correcting deficiency through foliar/fertigation application.
  • Can I use it in water with a pH above 7? Yes; however, it shows the best effect in the pH 5–7 range. Solubility may decrease under higher pH conditions.
  • Does foliar application provide a quick effect? Yes; since it is involved in chlorophyll synthesis, a greening effect can be observed on the leaves in a short period.
